The ancient fair in Castel Goffredo was established, along with the Thursday market, by decree of 1 July 1457 by Alessandro Gonzaga, son of Gianfrancesco Gonzaga The Marquis of Mantua. After more than 500 years, the festivities keep to be celebrated with a rich program. For the occasion, on the evening of 18 October every year, the cultural association Gruppo San Luca Onlus organizes a concert of sacred music in the Provostal Church of St. Erasmus and dedicates it to the patron saint of the city, which also inspired the activities of protection and enhancement of the local historic heritage of the Group itself.
