Secco Pastore Palace

The oldest part of the Palace is attributed to Luca Fancelli and was built in the fifteenth century by Francesco Secco, on a former property of his wife Caterina Gonzaga.
After Secco escaped in 1491, the palace belonged to illustrious owners: Caterina Pico della Mirandola, Luigi Gonzaga Marquis of Castel Goffredo, Benedetto Furga, Baron Fabio Orsini, Anne Marie de Trèmoille, Count Carlo Antonio Giannini, until, at the end of the eighteenth century, the Palace was bought by Francesco Alceo Pastore. The family, which is the current owner, gave austere grandeur to the architecture adding two elements built in the second half of the nineteenth century.
The palace can be visited on the third Sunday of each month and the following Wednesday from 8.30 to 12 a.m. by appointment calling 347 6896341, or during the first weekend of September in occasion of the event Convivio a Palazzo. The dinner commemorates the feast the nobleman Francesco Secco d’Aragona held here on 15 June 1491 with Francesco II Gonzaga Marquis of Mantua and the Duke of Ferrara Ercole I d’Este.
