River Chiese is an integral part of the regional ecological network and is classified at the first level of importance for significant environmental values, enough to be counted among the priority areas for biodiversity conservation.

The park was estabilished in 2006 by the Town of Casalmoro, as Parco del Moro Local Park of Interest in order to protect and enhance the fluvial area in its territory.
