It has been more than 60 years that in Ceresara, during the third weekend of March, we celebrate the Fair of Possenta, a custom that has assumed the character of tradition, attracting visitors from beyond the borders of the province of Mantua.

This event, which has much older origins, was born in the small village of Possenta, where there is a shrine dedicated to Our Lady. Although initially the fair was a merely religious appointment, through the yeras it has become a popular event, turning into a real exhibition of cattle and goods. We can read in a resolution of the City Council of Ceresara, dated 16 October 1904, the establishment of “a fair of cattle and goods, to be held in the days 25-26-27 of each year in March, on the occasion of the feast of the Madonna of Possenta”

Today the fair is an important meeting point for agriculture and handicrafts, where you can discover the news of these growing areas, taste local products and spend some time with friends, honoring traditions.
